What MetaSizer Does

MetaSizer is a read-only Shopify app that scans your store's metafields, measures their size in bytes, and flags any entries that are near or over the 16 KB limit introduced in the Shopify API 2026-04 release. The app never writes, modifies, or deletes any data in your store.

Data We Access

MetaSizer requests a single OAuth permission: read_products. This grants access to:

• Product metafields
• Product variant metafields
• Collection metafields
• Shop-level metafields (best-effort, same scope)

Data We Do NOT Access

• Orders or order history
• Customer identities or personal information
• Payment or financial data
• Marketing, email, or subscriber data
• Any data beyond the read_products scope

Data Storage

Scan results (owner type, metafield namespace/key, value size in bytes, and risk status) are stored in the app's database so you can review and export them at any time. No raw metafield values are permanently stored — only metadata about size and risk classification.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third party. Scan results are accessible only to the authenticated merchant or admin within the app.

Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your data. Access to the app database is limited to authorized personnel and services required to operate MetaSizer.

Your Rights

You can delete all stored scan data at any time by uninstalling the app from your Shopify admin. Uninstalling triggers an automated cleanup of your store's session and associated records.
